Multi-Stop Expeditions in Andaman: Beyond the Usual Islands

Multi-stop Andaman expeditions linking South, Middle and North Andaman by road, ferry and boat. Arranged on request once access is verified.

Overview

Multi-stop expeditions are for travellers who want to see how the Andaman archipelago fits together. Instead of staying on the well-known ferry route, an expedition can travel the length of the islands: from Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair) north through Middle Andaman towards Rangat and Mayabunder, and on to Diglipur in North Andaman, returning by sea or road with stops along the way.

Each stop has its own character. Middle Andaman has mangrove creeks and quiet beaches; Long Island is small and car-free; North Andaman offers Saddle Peak, the highest point in the islands, the twin Ross and Smith Islands joined by a sandbar and long forested coastlines. An expedition might also include a boat day towards Barren Island, where the volcano is viewed from the water only, as landing is not permitted.

Because these routes depend on road convoys, ferries, permits and the weather, nothing is fixed in advance. You register your interest, we check what is open and safe for your dates and propose a realistic route with spare days built in. The road north passes through protected areas where travellers must follow strict rules, including not stopping, photographing or interacting with anyone in the reserve, and we brief every guest on these rules in advance.

Best For

Experienced travellers and repeat visitors.

Best for travellers comfortable with long travel days, simple stays in remote areas and plans that may change at short notice.

Best Time

November to April, when seas are calmer and roads drier. Monsoon expeditions are rarely advisable.

Verification, Permits & Access

Expeditions are arranged on request once access, permits, transport and safety arrangements are verified for your dates. Some islands and areas need permits, convoy rules apply on parts of the road and ferry schedules change often.

We confirm every element a day or two before you travel and keep you informed if plans need to change. Safety, local rules and our hosts' wishes always come first.

Responsible Travel

Multi-Stop Expeditions follows our responsible travel promise. We keep groups small, use established routes and permitted locations, pay hosts fairly and leave every place as we found it. We never promise wildlife sightings, and we never market, visit or photograph the islands' indigenous communities, whose privacy and protected status we fully respect.

Please carry a refillable bottle, use reef-safe sunscreen, avoid touching coral or wildlife and ask before photographing people.
